General Info

If you’re exploring dining spots in Fall River, Cafe Balboa is one of those places that feels easy to settle into. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is relaxed and welcoming, making it a solid choice whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or lingering over a casual meal.

The menu leans heavily into comfort food, and you can tell it’s designed to satisfy without overcomplicating things. One standout that immediately caught my attention was the Deviled Eggs. They’re simple, classic, and done right-creamy with just enough seasoning to keep you going back for another bite. It’s the kind of starter that sets the tone for the rest of the meal.

Another highlight worth mentioning is the Sandwich Wrap. It’s hearty, neatly prepared, and perfect if you’re looking for something filling but not too heavy. The balance of flavors and textures makes it feel thoughtfully put together, rather than just another quick option. It’s clear the kitchen knows how to keep things approachable while still delivering quality.

Service here is straightforward with a counter service setup, which keeps things moving smoothly. You order, grab a seat, and enjoy your food without any fuss. It’s ideal if you’re on a tight schedule, but it still works just as well for a laid-back lunch. Plus, the availability of on-site parking makes the whole experience even more convenient-no need to circle around looking for a spot.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t skip dessert. The selection complements the main menu nicely, offering a satisfying finish without overwhelming you with too many choices. It rounds out the experience in a way that feels complete and well-paced.

Practical details also make a difference here. The restaurant accepts credit cards, which adds to the ease, especially if you’re just stopping by without cash. Combined with the accessible location, it’s a spot that fits naturally into your routine, whether you’re a local or just passing through.

Overall, Cafe Balboa delivers a reliable dining experience with a focus on comfort, convenience, and flavor. Between the approachable menu, easy service style, and standout dishes like the Deviled Eggs and Sandwich Wrap, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to revisit-not just for the food, but for how effortlessly it fits into your day.

What customers say?

“ Easily one of my new favorite spots! My co-worker has been addicted to their smoothies, and fair to say I understand why. We get the King King with extra peanut butter & it is sooooo good. I've tried they BLT which was delicious and they don't skimp you on the bacon either. THE CLUB CROISSANT THOUGH, my new favorite, savored every bite. Hope this place sticks around long term. ”

“ A small taste of respite built into a side street of the city. So many creative options, gorgeous decor, and accommodating service. I asked if the mint chocolate latte could be made with hot chocolate instead of espresso, and the response was “absolutely!” The food was phenomenal and the ambiance was relaxing and fully accessible!!! I could even hear birds. ”

“ Cafe Balboa catered a work event that lasted three days. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, fruit/pastry platters, and sandwich bags. They delivered everything to us. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this business. Food was DELICIOUS and fresh (the team loved the chocolate chip scones) and the ingredients were great. Each sandwich bag was packed with a mint which made everyone smile. The fruit on the platter was perfectly ripe. And they also did coffee. All was awesome. Everyone should consider ordering from them for their next event. ”

“ Love all the latte flavors. I usually go for the creme brulee w caramel, but they have some Halloween ones I wanted to try. Went for the "Jack the Ripper", which was pumpkin, caramel, and toffee flavored. SO GOOD! Pastries are homemade and OUTSTANDING! Addicted to the scones! The only negative I have is that they do NOT have whipped cream. I have NEVER heard of a coffee shop, especially one with so many latte options, to NOT have whipped cream! A bit pricey too (sm latte and a scone was $12) but a treat for myself a couple times a month. ”

“ What a great little coffee/tea/sandwich bistro. I had the turkey blt sandwich on sourdough. My kids had the bacon buddy. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recomend stopping here for a bite to eat. There are some tables outside to sit at and eat. And the people behind the counter were so nice and helpful. ”

“ This coffee shop makes high quality food and desserts with unique recipes that are always a delight. I love a variety of their drinks and have to recommend their homemade caramel cream if you are a creamer person! If you like espresso, try their flat white! The owner Joseph is highly involved and listens to customer feedback. I buy birthday cakes for my fiancee from this coffeeshop which are spectacular. I attached some pictures of the cake I bought this year as well as some desserts I have purchased recently. ”

“ Excellent spot! Always great choices and healthy options. The hot honey wrap is dynamite. Staff is always nice and makes you feel welcome. Always like to try new things here and im never disappointed. Only 4 on atmosphere because you cant eat inside. Nice outside dining though! ”

“ I never ate here before, but I'm leaving 5 stars because I know the owner (Kylie) and she's really funny and cool. Always has a positive outlook! I'm so glad she started her own business! ”
